Philosophy of care

Philosophy of care

The Abbeyfield Perth Society is an independent charity within the National Abbeyfield organisation whose ethos is 'To enhance the quality of life for older people', which means we are dedicated to meeting an individual's requirements whilst protecting their privacy, dignity and choice.

The Society offers personal and nursing care for the elderly in a homely and safe environment with freedom to come and go as they please. Staff aim to provide the highest level of care. The Society provides single rooms with en-suite facilities within the companionship and security of a small household.

The staff respect the residents' physical, social, cultural and spiritual needs.

The staff are aware of the importance of confidentiality regarding residents' private matters.

The residents are encouraged to be as independent as possible but help is always available if and when required. Each resident is respected as an individual and privacy is given at all times. Residents can become involved in any social aspect within the House and are encouraged to become involved in the running of the House.

Visitors are welcome to call at any time of the day.

Contact with the wider Community is encouraged if the residents so wish.
